Oktoberfest Exhibition
Due to lack of manufacturing exhibition in North East, Derwentside Engineering Forum which Hiatco is a member decided to hold an intertrade exhibition between the members. The exhibition was organised with Sedgefield Engineering Forum, East Durham Engineering Forum as well as South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum and Tees Valley Engineering Partnership. The exhibition was held at Hardwick Hall Hotel. The Oktoberfest event was proved to be very successful. The next Oktoberfest event will be held on 01/10/2009 at Rainton Meadows Arena in Durham and will be over double the size of the previous event.
Power Industry
Hiatco is in the process of testing a battery operated Spacer Chair. The power operated Spacer Chair is to replace the standard manually operated Spacer Chair. Watch this space...
Chinese Market
Hiatco is actively developing Chinese market to promote the access and maintenance platforms for high voltage power transmission lines within the power industry. We work closely with UKTI and Enterprise Europe Network (One North East). We frequently join their trade missions to maximise contacts, exposures, technical support, experiences in doing business in China etc.
Award Winning Apprentice
The Derwentside Engineering Forum “Apprentice of the Year Award” went to Stuart Parkin for special achievement in fabrication and welding. Stuart attended Derwentside College's Apprentice Program.
